ALDI Shop & Go, the first checkout-free story by ALDI Nord in Utrecht, is equipped with an artificial intelligence system that further optimises the customer experience and leads to an even easier and faster shopping process. Customers enter the store with the ALDI Shop & Go app via QR code. This special app and computer vision technology sensors in the store then register, which items the customer then puts in his or her bag. Accordingly, products are tracked by sensors in the shelves and cameras in the ceiling while protecting the customers privacy by complies with the strictest European data protection regulations. When the customers are done shopping, the ALDI Shop & Go app prompts the payment process automatically. The technology partner for ALDI Shop & Go is Trigo Vision Ltd.
