With the IoT.SCHWARZ platform, the Schwarz Group is tackling the complexity of the diverse technical equipment in supermarkets. Schwarz IT relies on the proven ThingsBoard platform from the provider of the same name. The scalable platform standardises technologies and use cases in more than 13,000 supermarkets in 32 countries. Each store has customised, authorised access to its data. ThingsBoard IoT seamlessly integrates devices, consolidates data and integrates external sources such as BIM data and computer vision systems. Events and notifications can be communicated to shop floor staff in seconds via their headsets and task management system. The IoT portal acts as a visualisation layer, providing all the data from the affected devices to the responsible parties so that they can quickly analyse the causes of the faults. IoT.SCHWARZ is improving the in-store digitalisation of supermarkets. More than 500,000 individual devices are currently connected to the platform, which significantly reduces the Schwarz Group’s operating costs while maintaining its freedom to choose maintenance providers and suppliers by being independent of device manufacturers. The platform also accelerates the digitisation process itself by reducing the number of interfaces between data consumers and devices.This design is agile and future-proof, enabling the rapid addition of new use cases or hardware in a standardised way and simplifying maintenance throughout the lifecycle.
